FAQ

Can IBM i and other operating systems run on the same physical Power server?

Midland Information Systems sells, supports, and migrates AS400 and IBM i Power Systems hardware and software, from legacy AS400 environments through the current IBM Power 11 line, plus Managed SIEM services for IBM i shops replacing self-run Splunk.

Yes. A single Power Systems server can run IBM i, AIX, and Linux at the same time, each in its own LPAR (logical partition), managed by IBM's built-in PowerVM virtualization layer. This is a common way to consolidate several older, separate systems onto one newer, more capable machine.
