IBM FlashSystem 7600 is the balanced system in IBM's three-model 2026 enterprise FlashSystem launch. It moves to a 2U enclosure with 32 NVMe slots and provides materially more capacity, connectivity, memory, and performance headroom than the 5600.
IBM publishes up to 7.2 PBe of effective capacity, 55 GB/s of read bandwidth, and 4.3 million IOPS. Those values are useful for comparing the family, but final sizing needs real capacity, latency, throughput, read and write mix, and growth measurements.
Where It Fits an IBM i Environment
The 7600 is likely to be the comparison point for established IBM i organizations with multiple partitions, heavier database activity, mixed IBM i and AIX workloads, broader application consolidation, or growth that could make a compact array a short-lived choice.
That does not make it the automatic answer for every midrange Power environment. Verify the exact IBM i release, Power server, Fibre Channel adapter, direct or switched attachment, VIOS or native design, and Storage Virtualize level in IBM's System Storage Interoperation Center before finalizing the configuration.
See how it compares with the compact 5600 and high-end 9600 in the FlashSystem comparison and IBM i planning guide.
