An IBM i spool file is saved print output waiting to be printed or processed. The trial should use representative output from the application that creates it.
We would include a multi-page document and a record with unusual field lengths. The comparison should establish whether the proposed edition handles the source format and the required output.
What needs to change on the finished document?
Turning output into a PDF and applying a new invoice layout are different requirements. Logos, page breaks, headings and totals need to be checked against the real source data.
A useful trial includes the person who maintains the form. The buyer should know how a later tax-field or address change will be made and tested.
Who should receive each document?
A large batch may need to become separate customer documents. The process must associate the correct pages with the correct recipient.
